Aaron Huey Aaron is considered one of the world‘s leading experts in the empowerment of children and families. He has been working with children and parents for over 15 years. Since then he has been an elementary, middle school, high school and college teacher, a kids life coach, mentor, professional story teller, director, trainer, camp counselor, parenting coach, and a father as well as a step-dad. He teaches seminars to children and adults all over the United States and Canada and speaks at parenting centers about authentic play, the dance of masculine and feminine energy in relationships, and using archetypes for understanding and empowerment.
Aaron believes that people have more power than they acknowledge. His mission is to awaken confidence and leadership. "It‘s not about being better, it‘s about giving up the struggle to be different from who you are."
Aaron understands the struggles kids and families go through because he has been there. "I was diagnosed with ADHD/ADD when I was 12, and was also told that I had learning disabilities. I was bullied unmercifully, struggled to try and get any kind of grades at all, and I basically had zero self-esteem. I started to get into trouble at school, because I just couldn‘t fit into the mold that they were trying to put me in. I developed substance abuse problems, and really hit rock bottom."
How did he turn it around? "I finally found out the style of learning that WORKED FOR ME! And then, I discovered how to work with others in a way that tapped into the style of learning that WORKS FOR THEM!"
Aaron was raised in Longmont, Colorado and has 2 younger brothers He graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1991 and is a certified EMT and Red Cross 1st Responder instructor as well as a Wilderness First Aid Instructor.
Paul Guerra
Paul Guerra is a living example of someone whose past has shaped him like molten steel, creating a powerful man with a strong spine and a heart of gold. He is, simply put, a force of nature. A full time single father, he is 150% committed to his daughters and to not repeating the family history he experienced as a kid growing up in Canada. The kids who are fortunate enough to experience Paul at Warrior Camp or Teen Rites of Passage know he will challenge them. Paul holds the kids he works with accountable; he looks right into their soul with his steely Clint Eastwood type gaze, and they feel his powerful compassion.
Whoever coined the phrase “Your pain is your credential” must have known about Paul’s early struggles in life. After his parent’s bitter divorce when he was 5, Paul bounced from one foster home to another for five years. He was able to live with his mother again at age 10, and he went to work to provide food for his family. At age 16, his step dad was incarcerated and Paul quit the 10th grade to go to work full time to support his family. At age 17, he joined the army and became immersed in a culture of drugs and alcohol. For the next 10 years, he was a functioning addict working in the restaurant industry until he was fired from a Club Med. Following this, he was sober for seven years yet he hit bottom when he became homeless for a period of time in Vancouver.
The road to personal recovery was a powerful one for Paul, with all the classic hallmarks of thinking he could go it alone, that he could do the work without his heart and mind, and that he was sober and stable for life without working a program. He found out early in recovery that his pain is his gift. “My purpose in the last 10 years has been to serve fellow mankind,” said Paul. “I now serve helping teenagers with substance abuse problems and plan to continue serving those who struggle with abuse problems like mine.” In 2002, he stumbled upon an amazing job opportunity with Peak Potentials, a legendary company in the personal development field. “Working with Peaks was a powerful experience,” said Paul. “Every day was about empowering and changing people’s lives and teaching them how to break through life cycles to overcome emotional, physical and spiritual challenges.”
Paul found his piece of the puzzle. He defined his inner peace. Look at his arm and you’ll see the tattooed image of his company logo—Define Your Peace—the earth composed of puzzle pieces. Define Your Peace is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping at risk youth and their families conquer addiction. Paul believes that teens have unharnessed potential, and that everyone, adults and teens alike, has the ability to step up in life—to live a productive, sober life. One of the keystones of his company is the Teen Life Mastery Program, an intervention model in which parents send their teen to live with Paul for an extended stay. The teen receives daily coaching and learns basic life skills that have fallen by the wayside due to addiction and other nonsupportive behaviors. Paul understands the struggles kids go through when dealing with life’s pressures, because he lived through it. He empowers teens to make their own choices, and he knows it doesn’t always mean it’s the right choice. “Parents have to stop enabling their children by fixing everything for them.” said Paul. “You have to vacate the space you want your children to employ.”
Paul is available for school speaking engagements, and workshops and seminars in partnership with Aaron Huey, founder of Fire Mountain Enterprises. Aaron’s kids’ camps at Fire Mountain are legendary—they are unlike any other camp your kid will ever participate in—Super Hero Camp, Goddess Camp, Warrior Camp, and the renowned Teen Rites of Passage. Together, Paul and Aaron offer programs, seminars and speaking engagements on Empowerment & Leadership, Parenting, Addictions, and Relationships and Teen Life Mastery. The programs offered by Define Your Peace and Fire Mountain Programs are unlike anything else available in the personal development arena.
Define Your Peace and Fire Mountain Enterprises are committed to inspiring kids, teens, adults and families to live life with passion, presence and power by awakening confidence and leadership. These programs are high-impact, challenging and fun events that create profound enduring transformation. Each camp or program mirrors real life as participants learn to break through obstacles, banish fear and emerge with the tools to lead more courageous, passionate and fulfilling lives. Paul and Aaron envision a world of self-responsible, heart centered, empowered human beings committed to action and results in the areas of personal growth, service, authenticity, abundance for all, and fun!
Jeff Hamilton Jeff lives in a cabin on 5 acres amidst the Roosevelt National Forest. Being in the mountains gives him a chances to live simply in harmony with nature as well as a chance to cruise his motorcycle on some pretty great windy roads. With degrees in Psychology and Anthropology, Jeff is a Reiki Master and hypnotherapist. He has taught Martial Arts for 20 years and is in his 15th year teaching at a Boulder, CO alternative high school where he is a favorite mentor and guide for young adults. How does he view what he does? "I work with energy: energy inside oneself, energy between individuals, and energy in relationship to nature." An avid reader of philosophy, mythology and history, Jeff infuses his teaching with lessons from our greatest story tellers and heroes. He has bee with Fire Mountain since the beginning. Why? "Because I love what I do. It's amazing to facilitate the awareness and growth in people that come through our programs.." As a warrior and sage, Jeff believes the most valuable things he has learned in his life have come through relationships, especially with his daughter.
Tyler Conderino (pictured here with Flurry a.k.a. Bear Biter)
A true spiritual Warrior, with a degree in Outdoor Education and Wilderness Leadership, Tyler is our lodge master, director of logistics, and a favorite counselor among the kids. He has put his sweat, heart and soul into Fire Mountain's mission and participants since the beginning. We call him the Ninja because he magically appears whenever he is needed. We call him a Shaman because he intuitively knows what the spirit of each individual needs and what the camps require at any given moment. At only 20 years old, Tyler is a support facilitator for the world famous Predicament, assistant trainer for Fire Mountain Martial Arts, and an inspiring role model for children.

Sounds too good to be true? Just listen to what other people are saying about our work!
"Shortly after joining your programs, my seven-year-old Jason began helping me around the house without having to be asked, holding doors open for elderly people, helping to resolve conflicts on the playground, etc. Not only has this class provided a positive and safe outlet for my son’s energy, it has also given him a code of behavior, discipline, ethics, and honesty." -Yoana George, Teacher Boulder, Co.
"I want to thank you again for the changes you made in my life. I feel free. Before I was kind of in a cocoon, never let anybody close, never accepted support, always thought that people think badly of me. When I came back home, most everybody noticed the change in me. I am smiling and happy most of the time!" -Svetlana E. Aberta, Canada
"Jade very much enjoyed the camp, and he came home exhausted (which we enjoyed). He has mentioned to me some of the things you and he talked about in regards to fear. Much of what you said has had tremendous resonance with him, and he continues to reflect upon your words, and to seek out ways to LIVE through that knowledge. Once again, thank you. Thanks for being who you are, for doing what you do, and for caring enough to be involved in the lives of my and other people‘s children." -Karen Kavnar Lyons
